Apiary Meeting Spring 2020
This is a practical apiary meeting, the first one of the year.
John Fuller: “First Inspection”
John is one of our most experienced beekeepers, and his subject is “The First Inspection”. I would suggest that this is a must for last year’s Beginners, and indeed the current cohort for that matter. John will demonstrate/discuss a number of techniques including shook swarms, Bailey frame exchange, and how to examine the colony and put it into a clean box and floor for the start of the new season. He will also discuss methods of comb changing, and preparing the colony for the next few months as it expands into summer.
Please ensure you wear your clean (freshly washed) bee suit, and clean wellies and gloves.
