A colony description form must be included with the bees\, download the form to be filled here. \nINFORMATION FOR BUYERS: \n\nCar parking and entry to the Auction are free\nIf you think that you may bid for any items\, please register your name with the Steward at the entrance. You will be given a numbered card. Please show this to the Auctioneer when the hammer falls on the sold lot\nRegistering your name does not commit you to buying\nLots will be accepted from 09:00 hours\, and viewing begins from 11:00 hours. The auction will commence at 12:00 hours\nThe vendor may fix a reserve price on any items by informing the Steward when booking in the lot\nWhen multiple lots of the same item are for sale\, the buyer of the first lot may have “first refusal” on the rest of the lots at the same price (subject to any reserve placed on them). The Auctioneer will identify such “stand on” lots\nA commission of 10% will be added to the selling hammer price\nItems become the property of the purchaser only after payment\, which may be made by cash\, debit/credit card or cheque. Cheque to be made payable to “YDBKA”\nStewards will only release goods to buyers on production of a receipt from the Cashier. DESCRIPTION:Hosts: Vicki Leaf at Glade Farm in Escrick \nFor those of you new to YDBKA\, this is a purely social event – bring the family\, and have fun.\nAs there is plenty of space\, Vicki has also extended the invitation to any bee-friendly friends and family\, who are welcome to bring tents\, camper vans etc.\n\nA huge thank you to our hosts\, who will be providing the barbecue\, bread and soft drinks. Bring your own fancy drinks\, and meat or veg to put on the barbecue. If you are able to contribute a salad or pudding\, that’s wonderful – but if you are not\, come anyway: there is always plenty to eat.\n\nIt will be an enormous help to Vicki and Nick if you let them know (a) that you are coming and (b) if you are bringing food to share.\n\nThat’s about it\, I think – the Leafs have cleverly arranged a wet-weather option\, so rain is no problem: looking forward to seeing you all there.\nDIRECTIONS:\nTravelling south on the A19 towards Selby:\n2 miles south of Escrick you will see on the left a big sign for Escrick Business Center. Turn right here\, but don’t go straight on into the Estate! Take the first left\, following “Fishing” signs. Then take the 2nd right into the farmyard and park anywhere around the back.\nTravelling north on the A19 towards York:\n1 mile out of Riccall you will see a large sign for Escrick Business Center – turn in left here and carry on as above.\nVicki will put up signs from the road.

DESCRIPTION:Martin Ainsley\nAs experienced Beekeepers know\, and beginners will be discovering\, bees do not always read the same books as we do! \nIMPORTANT – OPEN APIARY 21ST JULY WILL NOW START AT 10.30 NOT AT 12 NOON\nOur Association Apiarist\, Martin Ainsley\, would like to demonstrate the making up of a nucleus from a burgeoning colony – and the bees at Murton will not be ready for this manipulation on Saturday 7th July\, therefore the date was changed to the 21st July instead.\nThe time and venue remain the same\, and members should\, as always\, come with freshly laundered suits and clean boots and gloves.

DESCRIPTION:This year our Queen-rearing course will begin on 30th June.\nThe course will again be taught by David Bough\, one of our most experienced Beekeepers and also an excellent teacher.\nTo be able to benefit from the course\, you will need to have the following: \n\nAt least two years experience of keeping your own bees\nEither excellent natural eyesight or magnifying glasses which enable you to see eggs – this is essential when grafting.\nThe ability to commit to ALL the dates on the course\n\nIf you cannot meet all the criteria this year\, do not despair – there will be other years.\nThe course will run in the Association Apiary at Murton\, and the dates and times are as follows:\nSaturday 30th June 10.00\nMonday 9th July 18.30\nWednesday 25th July 18.30\nSaturday 28th July 10.00\nThe number on the course will be limited to 8. DESCRIPTION:Items accepted from 9.00am with viewing from 11.00am. Auction starts at 12 noon\nNB: Bees can be accepted Friday 11th May evening by prior appointment and at your own overnight risk\, in secure and sealed boxes. – MUST BE EXAMINED by the Bee Inspector prior to arrival.\nINFORMATION FOR BUYERS: \n\nCar parking and entry to the Auction are free\nIf you think that you may bid for any items\, please register your name with the Steward at the entrance. You will be given a numbered card. Please show this to the Auctioneer when the hammer falls on the sold lot\nRegistering your name does not commit you to buying\nLots will be accepted from 09:00 hours\, and viewing begins from 11:00 hours. The auction will commence at 12:00 hours\nThe vendor may fix a reserve price on any items by informing the Steward when booking in the lot\nWhen multiple lots of the same item are for sale\, the buyer of the first lot may have “first refusal” on the rest of the lots at the same price (subject to any reserve placed on them). The Auctioneer will identify such “stand on” lots\nA commission of 5% will be added to the selling hammer price\nItems become the property of the purchaser only after payment\, which may be made by cash or cheque. We are unable to accept credit or debit cards. Cheque to be made payable to “YDBKA”\nStewards will only release goods to buyers on production of a receipt from the Cashier. All lots including those that are unsold must be cleared from the premises by 16:00 hours on the day of the Auction\, except for bees which shall be removed by 20:00 hours\nEntry to the Auction does not include entry to the Museum complex\, for which the Museum standard entry fees will be charged\n\n===============================================================================\nINFORMATION FOR SELLERS \n\nCar parking and entry to the Auction are free\nIf you wish to sell any items\, please register your name with the Steward at the entrance\nBEES FOR SALE – BEES MUST HAVE BEEN INSPECTED AND CLEARED by the Seasonal Bee Inspector three weeks or less before they are brought to Murton for sale\, otherwise they will not be accepted for sale. Written proof of inspection is required\nInspected and cleared bees can be brought the evening before the Auction day\, between 19:00 hours and 21:00 hours\, if they are to be allowed to fly\nLots will be accepted from 09:00 on the Auction day. They should be of reasonable quality and will be scrutinized by the Stewards before being accepted – the Stewards decision being final. It is recommended that all equipment be sterilized before submitting it for sale. Drawn comb\, rusty tin ware and items of poor quality will not be accepted\nThe vendor may fix a reserve price on any item by informing the Steward when booking in the items\nViewing will commence at 11:00 hours\, and the Auction will commence at 12:00 hours\nAll monies due from the Treasurer will be paid to the seller by cheque\, posted to the sellers registered address\, as soon as possible after the sale.
