Saturday 13 July
10am – 4pm
This one day introduction to beekeeping is designed to enable those interested in taking up beekeeping to find out more about honeybees and what being a beekeeper could involve. The day will feature a talk on the honeybee, the colony and the beekeeping year, and the opportunity to see a hive inspection (weather permitting).
This taster day could help you decide if beekeeping is for you, and serve as an introduction to the beginners course in beekeeping.
Participants must bring wellies and rubber gloves (of the washing up, and not gardening variety) and a packed lunch. Bee suits will be provided for the practical hive inspection.
Participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied throughout by a parent or guardian.
