Description
The Association negotiate a discounted price for a hive package, including the basic equipment, a British National hive and the bees, which you can purchase. In this case, the practical course is delivered at a temporary apiary where you will do the activities on your own bees, and at the end of the 5 weeks you will take your bees to your own home or apiary location.
Proposed dates: 18, 25 May, 1, 8, 15 June (five sessions). These dates are indicative only, and can be altered depending on the weather or when the bees will be ready.
Time: 6.30pm – 8.30pm.
Venue: Escrick Learning Apiary (more details and directions will be gives to those attending nearer the time.)
Hive Package to contain: Floor, 1x brood box, queen excluder, 2x supers, crown board, roof, 2x heavy duty ratchet straps, bee brush, smoker, hive tool, uncapping fork, rapid feeder, 6 frame nucleus of bees in a poly nuc.
Price for the hive package is £444.32 (including VAT), and will be paid directly to the supplier. Detailed instruction will be given.
Please note a bee suit is NOT included in the package. You will have the opportunity to try a few different ones during the theory modules, but will have to order your own before the practical starts.
NOTE: if you are buying the course as a present, please add the name of the person attending to the notes at the checkout.
Participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied at all times by a parent or guardian for the full duration of the course.
